We here in Portland love nature and the outdoors. We spend time in the mountains, on the beach, on the river or on the road, and to do all that means staying in shape. Like many people here, I have a gym membership, but found it to be a bit boring after awhile, so I decided to start looking for other options. Eventually, I found a new type of work out called “Cross-Fit” that combines running, jumping, swinging kettle bells, working hard, and having fun. A typical workout routine might look like this:
Warm-up
10 pass thrus
10 overhead squats
5 spiderman
75 jump ropes
Skill:
12 leg curls
10 cossack lunges
kipping/band pull-ups
Workout:
partner 30/30
6x at each station
box jump
swing/ring plank hold
sprint
rope snaps
The workouts are different from anything that I have ever done before. Namely, they only take an hour, as opposed to my old 2-hour workouts. I get to do it with other like-minded people in a friendly and lightly competitive environment. It’s a great workout, and the staff actually knows your name.

The founders of Recreate Fitness, Nathan and Tina Jeffers moved here from Long Beach California about 6 years ago to start their dream business and quickly out grew their first location and had to move to a larger facility at 2001 NW 19th Ave Portland, just north of where highway 30 and I-405 meet. 503-243-5644
They offer 6 classes a day M-F, 2 Sat and 1 Sunday. I have been working out there for close to a year now, and have to say that I’m great shape and owe it all to Recreate Fitness.
Try a class! New client special 3 classes for $30.00
Every Tuesday and Saturday they encourage individuals interested in their program to come in and experience it for themselves. As an added incentive they are offering an introductory special of 3 sessions for $30.00.
